Creative hard drive class action settlement
Gadget company Creative Labs has been charged with a class action lawsuit for its hard drive MP3 players. This comes after a spate of class actions filed against hard drive manufacturers who made false claims about their storage capacity, as opposed to its actual formatted capacity.
Creative will offer those who fall within the class (those who purchased a Creative MP3 player made between May 5, 2001 and April 30, 2008) a 50 per cent discount on a new 1GB player or a 20 per cent discount on any item bought at Creative’s online store.
The deadline for these settlement applications is August 7, 2008.
